OUR STORY
Jake’s Odd Jobs, Inc was officially established in 2018, but Jake discovered his passion for handyman work when he was just 12 years old and he’s been perfecting his craft ever since.

HOW JOJ GOT STARTED
Jake started Jake’s Odd Jobs, Inc. in August of 2018 with just $500 in savings and the drive to provide for his family. Before starting JOJ, Jake was a dispatcher at the Lincoln Police Department where he worked most nights, weekends, and holidays which prevented him from spending valuable time with his two young children. He needed to find a way to be able to provide for them and their future, while also being more present in their lives. JOJ was his chance to do just that.
Starting a business with next to nothing is no easy feat, but with his skills and grit, Jake was up for the task. By leveraging his prior experience working in construction, Jake saw an opportunity to offer his skills and knowledge to those in need of a handyman. Armed with just a few power tools and an old hail-damaged truck, Jake was determined to provide for his family and offer a reliable, affordable handyman service to customers in need. This was the beginning of Jake’s Odd Jobs, Inc.
Over the next five years, Jake built a reputation for quality work and professional service. Through hard work and persistence, Jake was able to grow his business and invest in new equipment. What started out as a single handyman with a few power tools, has grown into a successful business with eight employees, over a dozen trucks/machines, and an established presence as a trusted and reliable handyman provider for the local Nebraska community.
